Privacy law is an evolving area of the law and practitioners should be constantly aware of any new developments in the law. One of the best ways to keep track of the evolving state legislation is to use the state-law trackers listed on the "Tracking State Privacy Laws" page of this website. You can also use the following sources to keep up to date with other news in the data privacy world. 

Legal Resources:

This resource is a an association that publishes scholarly works relating to artificial intelligence and the law. It is an international association that also hosts a conference every year. If you look at the resources tab, you will be able to find papers written for previous conferences. 

This is a great newsletter to subscribe to so you can stay informed on the latest developments in cybersecurity, privacy, information governance, and legal technology. The Law Journal Newsletters website also have other newsletters that may be of interest like "The Intellectual Property Strategist". 

This is a data privacy podcast that discusses how data is regulated, managed, protected, collected, mined, stolen, defended, and transcended. It is hosted by Joe Dehner, a global data privacy lawyer. It is a free podcast, available on Apple podcasts. 

IAPP is a professional organization that seeks to connect and train privacy professionals. This is an especially great resource for anyone looking to keep track of all the privacy laws federally, state, and internationally. IAPP also provides certifications courses in various privacy topics. 

Proskauer is a law firm that maintains a privacy related blog. Attorneys at this firm have specialized in privacy and cybersecurity law for decades. Some particularly interesting aricles are "The Future of the FTC: Part I and Part II

Electronic Frontier Foundation - privacy rights organization

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) works on various technology-related issues including privacy. EFF does litigation, advocacy, and policy work to further privacy related causes. They also maintain a blog and publish white papers informing the audience about privacy related issues. 

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) maintains a blog for a variety of trade related topics. I linked the page of the blog that tags privacy and security related content. 

The Center for Internet and Society at Stanford also maintain a blog. The blog covers a variety of topics including privacy. The blog aims to be a leader in the study of law and policy around the internet and other emerging technologies. 

The Berkley Technology Law Journal is a great place to read articles talking about tech law. They also maintain a blog and podcast, so there is always something to see on their website. They also have an annual writing competition!

Teach Privacy - informational website

Teach Privacy is great website for anyone looking to get into data privacy. It is maintained by Professor Daniel Solove, a professor at George Washington University. He not only provides information, but training courses, guides on the CCPA, GDPR, and other privacy laws, and a database of internships, fellowships, and junior jobs. 

Non-Legal Resources:

AI Now Institute - non-legal research institute

The AI Now Institute conducts independent, interdisciplinary, innovative research on the complex social implications of AI. Their research is organized around a set of four core themes: rights and liberties, labor and automation, bias and inclusion, and safety and critical infrastructure. 

DuckDuckGo Blog - non-legal blog

The DuckDuckGo Blog includes a crash course and tips on how to maintain privacy online. The blog also has various articles that cover subjects such as filter bubbles, current trends in privacy advocacy, and tracking online. This could be useful for practitioners as they advise clients on the best data security practices. 

Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) - privacy rights organization

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) is a great privacy rights organization that advocates for privacy rights and frequently uses the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to obtain information about government surveillance and privacy. They have information about Facebook's long history of cases with the FTC and various other useful resources. 

Privacy Rights Clearinghouse - privacy rights organization

Privacy Rights Clearinghouse is a California organization that focuses on educating the public about California consumer privacy laws. They also maintain a blog and conduct research and monitoring projects on data privacy topics like cookies and data breaches. 

The New York Times is a newspaper that keeps a page on privacy. They publish articles from all over the world that discuss and report on privacy developments.
